All applicants agree to adhere by all rules and requirements as posted in the application, and should they be selected to compete, agree to adhere to all rules and requirements as posted on this site. Any rules or requirements are subject to change, and are determined at the sole authority of the show producer. All decisions regarding the interpretation and execution of any and all rules and requirements reside with the show producer.
These rules in addition to the Agreement constituted by the Application are considered legally binding upon submission of the Application or signing of the Contestant Agreement, whichever is relevant to the rule or requirement at hand. All Applicants/Contestants agree to the Authority and Enforceability of the Rules by completing the Application, and if selected, the Contestant Agreement.
Please note that Drag Royale respects and welcomes all types of performers and discrimination of any kind during, prior to, or after the competition by any competitor, in real life or online, will not be tolerated. Violations of this policy will result in immediate disqualification and a permanent ban from all Drag Royale related events, competitions, and ventures.
Please note that Drag Royale does not allow cultural appropriation of any kind, but welcomes all performers to showcase their talents in a way that is respectful to all cultures and peoples. Violations of this policy will result in immediate disqualification and a permanent ban from all Drag Royale related events, competitions, and ventures.
Cultural appropriation includes, but is not limited to, wearing traditional attire or symbols of a culture in a disrespectful or inauthentic manner.
All applicants and contestants are expected to be honest in their applications and performances. Lying on your application amounts to cheating and will automatically disqualify an applicant/contestant.
Drag Royale requires all participants to demonstrate courtesy and professional behavior at all times. This includes respecting fellow contestants, judges, and staff both on and off stage. Examples of unprofessional behavior include, but are not limited to, harassment, discriminatory remarks, and intentional disruption of the competition. Violations may result in disqualification or other penalties.
Scoring shall be done as per methods outlined in the Official Scoring Guide, which shall be published prior to the start of the competition in the Contest Materials section of the website. The Scoring Guide must be updated each year after the completion of the prior contest and before the start of the new one and must be dated during this time as well.
Violations of the Official Scoring Guide shall lead to a point-reduction penalty, which varies with each Weekly Challenge. The penalty point value shall be notated on the Scoring Rubric for each Weekly Challenge. Multiple violations or violations that overlap with other sections of the Rules, may result in additional penalties, up to and including disqualification, at the discretion of the show-producer or their proxy.
Winning the competition will result in the Winner being given an assortment of prizes, which may include bookings. Any winner is required to complete awarded bookings, unless it is mutually agreed upon by both the Winner and show-runner who gave out the booking to vacate this prize. Any agreement to vacate a prize must be completed in writing and submitted to an official staff member of Drag Royale. Any vacated prizes are forfeit and cannot be reclaimed.
Losing the competition will result in the removal of the Contestant from the competition. The Contestant agrees to honor all remaining commitments to the competition, including but not limited to show bookings and a reunion show. Any Contestant is required to complete awarded bookings, unless it is mutually agreed upon by both the Winner and show-runner who gave out the booking to vacate this prize. Any agreement to vacate a prize must be completed in writing and submitted to an official staff member of Drag Royale. Any vacated prizes are forfeit and cannot be reclaimed. All Contestants, including those who lose, are subject to all rules of the competition, including technical rules regarding commitments and behaviors. See 4.0 Technical Rules and relevant subsections.
Should a Contestant wish to appeal a decision, whether it be a penalty, disqualification, or loss, the Contestant must submit in writing a request outlining their complaint and appeal, and must sit before a meeting with the show-producer and judges. It is in the sole discretion of the show-producer, with the advice of the judges, to issue a ruling on all appeals. All appeals rulings are final.
All Applicants and Contestants agree not to defame in person or online, the venue, show-producer, judges, or other parties officially associated with Martini Rand Consolidated, House Bacchus, Drag Royale, and the Contest.
All Applicants and Contestants agree to abstain from illegal behaviors in person and online when participating in Drag Royale.
All Applicants/Contestants must agree to having photos and videos taken and used, as well as allowing the use of their likeness and information for the any purposes by the Company. All Contestants must sign a release waiver as part of their Contestant Agreement prior to competing.
All Applicants/Contestants all work product, Materials, and other physical and intellectual property that is worked on by the Contestant and/or his/her/their affiliates for the purposes of the competition will be the sole property of Martini Productions, the House Bacchus Brand, and Drag Royale. Contestants will retain physical possession of all personal materials, outfits, etc. but release for their use all purposes related to the Contest and related purposes. Contestants also must agree to the collection and use of their relevant personal data by the Company. All Contestants must sign a release waiver as part of their Contestant Agreement prior to competing.
By applying and/or competing, all Applicants and Contestants agree to the following:
Applicant/Contestant assumes all risk of participation during the competition duration. Applicant/Contest hereby agrees that he/she/they, his/her/their assignees, heirs, guardians, and legal representatives, will not make a claim against Company or any of its affiliated organizations, or either of their officers or partners collectively or individually, or any of its employees, for any injury, up to and including, death to Applicant/Contestant or damage to his/her property, however caused, arising from his/her participation in the competition. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing. Applicant/Contestant hereby waives and releases any rights, actions, or causes or action resulting from personal injury or death to him/her, or damage to his/her property, sustained in connection with his/her participation in the competition.
This will also be included in the Contestant Agreement that all Applicants chosen to complete must sign prior to competing.
All Applicants selected to compete must complete and sign a Contestant Agreement, confirming the rules and requirements outlined above, as well as any additional waivers, requirements, and obligations as determined by the Agreement. This must be done prior to competing. Failure to complete and sign the Contestant Agreement shall constitute immediate disqualification from the Competition.
